Rural Property Transformation
Most landowners we talk to have a list: trails they have wanted to build, brush that keeps creeping in, ground they own but cannot get to. We help them work through it.
We walk every property first. We look at topography, vegetation, drainage, and access. We plan for what grows back after the equipment leaves. That thinking upfront saves a lot of headaches later.
Trail System Design & Building
A good trail fits the land it runs through. A bad one erodes, floods, and fights you every time you use it. We design and build UTV trail networks, hunting access lanes, hiking trails, and multi-use trail systems around the natural topography of your property - routing around wet spots, following ridgelines where they make sense, making cuts only when it makes sense.
We have built and maintained trail systems on our own property for years. We know this terrain. We look at existing game movement, drainage, and vegetation before planning a single foot of trail. GPS-guided spraying and seeding is available on any trail project so we can manage regrowth and keep lanes open without heavy annual maintenance.
We build: UTV and ATV trail networks | hunting access lanes and stand connections | hiking and multi-use trails | creek crossings and low-water passages | trailhead clearing and staging areas
Food Plot Prep & Shooting Lanes
A well-placed food plot is planned around the land. most hunters have their own custom mix, but we can clear a site and prep the ground to make your life easy. if you want us to take on the whole works, we can also throw seed down and get it drug in for you.
Shooting lanes are cut with low-maintenance regrowth in mind so they stay open season after season without heavy annual work. We use GPS-guided herbicide application where appropriate to keep lane edges clean without repeated mechanical clearing.
We handle: food plot site selection and layout | clearing and brush removal | grading and soil preparation | GPS seeding (clover, brassica, cereal grains, native mixes) | herbicide application | shooting lane establishment
Rural Driveways & Culverts
Rural driveways in northwest Illinois take a beating - wet springs, heavy equipment loads, and frost heave work on even well-built roads over time. We build gravel driveways, field access roads, culverts, and creek crossings with proper base preparation, drainage sizing, and culvert selection to handle the water your specific property sees.
We also install and replace culverts on existing drives where drainage failure has caused washouts or deterioration. Creek crossings and low-water passages are sized for seasonal flow so they hold up through spring runoff.
We build: gravel driveways and private road extensions | field and farm access roads | culvert installation and replacement | creek and drainage crossings | low-water crossing installation | road grading and regrading
Land Clearing & Brush Control
There is a difference between clearing land and managing it. We approach overgrown property from a horticulturalist angle - looking at what is already there, what role it plays, and what should be managed rather than removed. Honeysuckle, multiflora rose, and autumn olive need different treatment than native understory. We identify what is present and manage accordingly.
Many landowners come to us specifically because they want a more natural approach that preserves what is valuable in their landscape rather than wiping the slate clean. GPS-guided herbicide application gives us precise invasive control without broad disturbance. The goal is ground that stays managed - not ground you redo every few years.
We do: overgrown field and pasture clearing | invasive shrub removal and management | selective clearing preserving desirable native vegetation | brushhog and rotary mowing | GPS-guided herbicide application | timber stand improvement | clearing for home sites and building pads
Cabin & Campsite Site Prep
The work starts well before any structure goes up. Site selection, clearing, access, grading, and drainage all need to be right before a foundation or pad is set. We handle cabin and off-grid site prep from initial clearing through graded, accessible building pad - including the access road to get there.
We do: site selection consultation and layout | clearing for cabin footprint and surrounding area | building pad excavation and grading | access road installation or improvement | berm installation for privacy or wind protection | campsite clearing and leveling
GPS-Guided Seeding & Spraying
Most excavation operators stop when the ground is moved. We take projects from clearing through seeding in-house using our GPS-guided UTV seeder and sprayer. We can also subcontract hydro-seeding. The operator who cleared the ground knows where the soil is compacted, where the seedbed is ready, and what the vegetation situation looks like. That continuity produces better results.
We offer: GPS-guided broadcast seeding for food plots, pasture, and prairie restoration with seed mix selection for hunting, grazing, or habitat goals. Optional subcontracted hydro-seeding. GPS-guided herbicide application covers both invasive species treatment programs and post-clearing revegetation management. We also coordinate with NRCS seed mixes and EQIP requirements for qualifying projects.
Consulting & Project Design
Not every call turns into a job right away - and that is fine. We are happy to walk a property, talk through what is realistic for the terrain and budget, and help a landowner make a good decision even if the timeline is a year out. We would rather have that conversation upfront than have someone hire us to do the wrong thing.
Consulting covers: trail system layout and feasibility | food plot placement and habitat planning | vegetation management strategy | project phasing and sequencing for landowners working in stages
