Agricultural Land & Infrastructure

We run cattle. We manage pasture, timber, and prairie on our own ground using regenerative practices. When we work on a farm, we are bring that experience to figure out what your land needs.

Agricultural improvement is a long-term investment. The decisions made early in a project affect the ground for years. We take time to understand the farming operation before we recommend an approach.

Pasture Renovation & Rotational Grazing Design

Degraded pasture is one of the most common issues we see on farms across Ogle County and northwest Illinois. Weed pressure, compaction, poor species composition, and overgrazing all take a toll over time. The good news is that most pastures can be improved significantly without full tillage and reseeding -  the question is the right approach for what is already there.

We manage and improve our own pasture using rotational grazing and regenerative practices. We know what works in northwest Illinois soils and climate, and we can help design and implement an improvement plan that fits your operation. Rotational grazing layout, water access points, and fencing consultation is part of what we offer  -  not just the earthwork and seeding.

We do: pasture assessment and renovation planning | overseeding and interseeding with GPS-guided equipment | weed and invasive control | rotational grazing system layout, water access, and fencing consultation | EQIP application support and prescribed grazing plan assistance

Livestock Water & Drainage Correction

Access to clean water in every paddock is one of the most important pieces of a rotational grazing system  -  and one of the most commonly skipped. We install livestock water systems as standalone work or as part of larger pasture improvement projects across Ogle County and surrounding counties.

We also handle drainage correction for wet areas, waterway shaping, and surface drain work on farm ground. Water management decisions on agricultural land have long consequences  -  we take time to understand the drainage pattern before recommending a fix.

We do: livestock water tank and trough installation | waterline installation for paddock access | waterway shaping and grassed waterway establishment | drainage correction for wet fields | tile outlet and surface drain work | pond work (select projects)

Creek Bank Stabilization & Erosion Control

Once a creek bank in northwest Illinois starts to fail, it does not stop on its own. Lost ground, damaged fences, compromised field access, and sedimentation downstream all follow. We stabilize creek and drainage channel banks using a combination of earthwork reshaping, rock, and native vegetation establishment  -  with the approach tailored to each site based on bank angle, soil type, water velocity, and land use.

We coordinate with NRCS conservation practices on qualifying projects and can assist with documentation for EQIP or other program requirements. We can armor your creek and river banks to build stability that will stand the test of time.

We do: bank grading and slope reshaping | rock revetment and riprap installation | toe protection and scour control | native grass and vegetation establishment | fence setback and livestock exclusion coordination | NRCS practice coordination

GPS-Guided Spraying & Seeding

Precision herbicide application and GPS-guided seeding for pasture improvement, invasive control, and conservation program compliance.

We run the same in-house GPS UTV sprayer and seeder used on our own ground, no subcontracting. For agricultural projects, this means consistent application rates, accurate seed placement, and documentation for EQIP or NRCS requirements where needed.

EQIP Consulting & Grazing Plan Assistance

We are familiar with common NRCS conservation practices and can work on projects that are part of an EQIP or other USDA conservation program.

We can assist with the planning, layout, and documentation side for qualifying practices -  particularly around prescribed grazing, pasture and hay land improvement, and watering facilities.

Farming and land management questions are welcome.

We are happy to walk the ground before any commitment is made.
